1866 - a London XI played Sheffield FC in Battersea Park, winning by two goals and four touchdowns (!), featuring possibly the first goal ever to be ruled out for offside 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

1883 - Blackburn Olympic stun Old Etonians to win the FA Cup, the first working-class and northern team to win, it shifted the balance of power from the ‘gentlemen’ players to the working classes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

1913 - Portuguese FA founded 🇵🇹
