I have been really enjoying Paul Kingsnorth’s explorations of old churches, his infectious joy and curiosity, and his highly knowledgeable insights.
I harbour a hope that one day he will feature my favourite church located in my former home county of Essex: St Andrew’s Greensted.
It is reputedly the oldest wooden church in the world, has a crusading knight buried outside the front door, features the story of King Edmund and the loyal Wolf carved into its beams, and is set in wonderful countryside.
