I have a theory that jersey bodycon dresses are supposed for be worn for dick appointments or coverups for strippers.

They can pass for a nice dress in low light, such as in a club. They are easy to take off and on, hike partially up, etc. and are inexpensive in case of rips. A huge key is they can be slept in because they are soft and pajama like, and are not as conspicuous in daytime (e.g. the “walk of shame”) as a fancy club dress.

I think they were invented specifically for that purpose and then naive people started wearing them in broad daylight. They’re not wearable in good lighting but people keep trying to anyway. Their underwear are always visible because you’re not supposed to wear them with underwear.
