Journalist Maryam Abu Daqqa, 32, appears in the film “Sutra: Not A Shield” produced by Filastiniyat and carried out by Ain Media.

Maryam, who lost her mother and bid farewell to her only son, Ghaith, as he left Gaza, continued her journalistic work despite the bombardment and displacement, driven by her deep love for the profession.

Today, Maryam was killed in a deliberate Israeli strike that targeted a group of journalists, civil defense workers, and paramedics on one of the floors of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, while performing her journalistic duty. Her photos and words will remain as testimony to the genocide and the greatest massacre in the history of journalism. Maryam worked as a photographer with Independent Arabia since 2020, as well as with several other international agencies.
