Fanny Cradock is unique but invites many comparisons, as if she were part Carol Channing, part Julia Child, part Jane Hudson… and as a vegetarian, I love her representation of an omnivorous lifestyle. In this clip, she provides the definitive answer to the question “What’s wrong with being English?” I know of at least one reader of mine, though, who will not appreciate Fanny’s claim. She knows who she is.
