Modding in gaming has a business model. Generative AI is effectively modding for TV, movie and social media content (and video clips from games), and it does not.

The difference is walls—constraints that prevent piracy and enable monetization. Until generative AI builds contained universes like gaming has, there is no business model.

Only piracy.
