Today, 3 April 2026, is international Gabbie day. I want to say I LOVE a lot of the music writers on here—I follow you, have interacted with you, I respect you, even if you don’t listen or even like my music. But I do want to take a moment show appreciation not just for her but her incredibly well executed publication that features her incredible insight into new music that, what do you know, as an older guy, I can say has broke me out of my insular habit and gotten me to listen to new shit.

I am a stubborn, stubborn man. Even if I really like Gabbie, it’s tough to get me to do anything. On at least two separate occasions I found bands I admittedly can’t remember the names of but I also forgot the email I used for the login to the VST company’s cloud service which I really need because I bought it and want to use it on this new song.

And she also has done an exemplary job of fostering a safe-space (meaning anti-Fantano-y stuff, just like civil for the most part), all for people or as one user wrote “birds finding the worms” or something.

I once was a new artist. It was a terrifying experience. I can tell you right now that were Gabbie, and at least like ten or so of you other music writers on here in particular because I’ve read your stuff (i follow a lot of people, overwhelmed by my subscriptions frankly) to have merely mentioned PP positively in any way back in the day, or if I were starting out now as a younger person, I’d have freaked the fuck out. I used to freak out at all the awesomely nice reviews. I still do because I’m like anyone else.

I still am honored that she listened to my music at all. Thank you gabbie for setting such a marvelous example for other writers and all of us on here for a multitude of reasons.
