I would like to propose that home visits from friends with the express purpose of accomplishing tasks be brought back into fashion. My dear friend came to spend the day with me to prep postpartum meals and make soap. Not only did I feel so loved and nourished, but it made me think about how working alongside someone builds a relationship much easier than just a social call where you try to think of recreational things to do together.

Women don't want always want leisure; we want to be put to work. Come over and help me fold my laundry. Let me come scrub your cabinets. Let's be like women of old stirring the soap cauldron and dipping candles. Work is made delight in the company of kindred souls.
