"This is great," Dr. Yoshi thought. "The creature responded to my voice! I've made first contact for all humanity! Proxima Centauri IV has intelligent life! Maybe I should call these Yoshis. No. They'll have their own name, and I'll learn it soon enough. Others will name this planet for me anyways."

The mustard-sized brained, squid-like creature released more red ink as it processed its meal. Life for it would continue: looking for food, a place to sleep, and a mate for the rest of its life it didn't understand it had.
