Make money doing the work you believe in

I appreciate being able to listen to articles and other texts. Then one can partake of information or reasoning when traveling, at the gym, during downtime, and in the in-between moments of life. Therefore, I asked readers if they were interested in an audio function on my Substack. Some expressed that they prefer listening, others that they prefer reading the text.

There are excellent apps for converting text to audio, but I will need to purchase a license for this – the free features provide far too poor sound quality. My intention has never been to erect a paywall around my texts, but there must be some limit to my generosity. Put your money where your mouth is – say the Americans. I therefore want to address this appeal to subscribers who request audio texts:

Go to my Substack and make a ”Pledge”, and in the future, you will also gain access to audio files and podcasts. The audio files will be available as soon as a sufficient number of such commitments have accumulated to finance the license.

It will be self-regulating: if we do not reach the required level, the interest in audio articles was limited, and I will not activate the payments.

(To be honest: several readers have already ”pledged”, without me asking them, but I have not activated the paywall. I would like to see more concrete interest first, from those who say they want to listen to audio articles).
