Joe "Ducky" Medwick, outfielder mostly for the St. Louis Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers, died on this date in 1975. A ten-time All-Star, he won the National League MVP and Triple Crown in 1937. Medwick was a .324 hitter in 17 seasons, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1968.
