Reggie Smith, outfielder mostly for the Boston RedSox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Los Angeles Dodgers, was born on this date in 1945. A seven-time All-Star, he batted .300 seven times, led the league in doubles twice, and won a Gold Glove in 1968. Smith had 314 HRs and was part of the 1981 World Series winners.
