Bert Blyleven, pitcher mostly for the Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians, was born on this date in 1951. A two-time All-Star, he led the league in shutouts three times, innings twice, and strikeouts once. Blyleven had 287 career wins and 3,701 strikeouts and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2011.
