Jim "Catfish" Hunter, pitcher for the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees, was born on this date in 1946. An eight-time All-Star, he won 20 games five times in a row and won the 1974 American League Cy Young Award. A part of five World Series winners, Hunter was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1987.
