Harmon Killebrew, corner infielder mostly for the Minnesota Twins, died on this date in 2011. A 13-time All-Star, he hit 40 homers eight times, leading the league six times. Killebrew was the American League MVP in 1969, hit 573 career home runs, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1984.
