No, as I said, psychiatrists and psychologists have not considered trans gender identity to be a mental illness for over a decade. It was removed from the DSM-5 in 2013 just like how homosexuality was removed from the DSM-III in 1973.
All four major mental health professional bodies in NZ (counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists) respect the validity of gender identity and conversion practices to be a breach of the code of ethics. In APANZ's case, this was established through extensive consultation including AGM votes by the majority of our members.
