i think sometimes people (especially when young) conflate career path with self-identity and who they are. I know i did. The reality is it takes a while to figure out who you are but that might be revealed to you through break ups, jobs you don’t like, changing social dynamics, and having kids. your note reminds me of Good Will Hunting when Will is confronted by Sean after he breaks up with his girlfriend.
