(1) Good. Politicians should be interested in important things.

(2) Does he have the PM’s blessing? He doesn’t need it. Citizens in a democracy can talk to whoever they want.

(3) But what if he wrecks things? See (2)

(4) Isn’t it just a stunt? Could be! But see (2)

(5) If CUSMA falls apart, won’t it be his fault? I don’t think so, and it’s a bad way to think of things. People should not only try things if they’re guaranteed to succeed.
