When selecting a card for an Apple Pay payment I couldn’t help but notice the Klarna option at the bottom of the page.
I don’t use Klarna but Apple is offering me the option to “set up” Klarna as a payment option.
This shows the power of Apple Pay becoming more than just a wallet, now it’s also acting as an orchestration layer!
Based on region, transaction size, and merchant type third-party payment options such as Klarna can be positioned within the transaction flow.
(In this case the transaction was for £55, and a transaction value of >£50 was likely a trigger to offer additional pay later options)
Also, now you can see what my default card for Apple Pay is — congrats Yonder 😉
