When I was a kid, I went to the University of Chicago’s high school (Lab). In college, I dated someone who went to a comparable school at the University of Illinois. He was impressed that I’d gone to Lab because we were allegedly their biggest rivals…. Except I’d never heard of his school until I met him because we always outperformed them in everything—so there was simply no reason for us to care that they existed. Meanwhile, Lab took up all of their headspace in a completely one-sided competition.

Anyway that was what it was like finding out last night that some no-name writer I’d never heard of has been busy running Liza Libes hate posts for the past year.
