I had a chat with a client the other day about the SAT. His goal was to help his daughter get into Stanford, and he wanted to know if there were any special “tools” I could recommend to help his daughter score higher on the reading portion of the SAT.
When I told him that she should try reading books, he looked at me as if I were speaking a different language.
We hate reading so much in this culture that it is now absurd to suggest that reading books may just improve a reading standardized test score.
