@JackBaruth Ha! You, my friend, are an anomaly, and one which proves the rule. Similarly, I took my shop over to Linux in 2000; we were one of the original case studies for Red Hat Enterprise. Not long after the company's 10,000+ desktops were hit with the NIMDA virus. Here's how my team learned I Am A Tech Genius:

Head SysAdmin: It will take weeks to clear up the virus!

Me: Aren't we Linux shop? So we're not actually infected?

Head SysAdmin: Yes...but the virus has overrun the network! It will take weeks to clear it up!

Me: Unplug us

Head SysAdmin: ??????

Me: Go over to the server room and yank out the Cat 5 connecting us to their network

We were back online in 30 minutes....

Do you ever get to Texas in your travels? Let me know and I will buy you some sort of Death By Meat dinner and we'll swap stories. Did I mention I got Banned from the Pacific Rim?

I just want to point out that I regularly delivered four nines of reliability with single Debian servers from 1998 to about 2014!
