The power of Black art has never been in its ability to appease but in its capacity to disrupt, to fracture the myth of neutrality, and to demand a reckoning. This is the challenge: to unlearn the tools of the oppressor and to build something ungovernable—art that doesn’t negotiate its place within the white-dominated systems of appraisal but abolishes them entirely.
