I always forget that Americans don’t know what Aussies mean when we say ‘ta’. It’s pronounced ‘tah’ and it means ‘thanks’.

When I lived in the USA years ago I used to always say it at the coffee shop and it took me about a year to realize they had no idea what I meant.
