We were not made to guzzle litres of plain water everyday, in my humble opinion.
I only started drinking orange juice this year.
Between orange juice and + coconut water + fresh fruit when it’s warm (and soup when it’s cold)…. I drink less and less plain water.
I read a story once about a woman in labour being given loads of water by her husband because they were told to stay hydrated. She got so low in sodium (hyponatremia— something that was hammered into us at uni), that she had birth complications and her baby was born with brain damage.
I always encourage women to have loads of coconut water with them for birth and recovery.
I have whole house filters and am pretty anal about water quality but I’ve noticed how much less plain water I drink the more I focus on mineralisation.
