When you find your voice, you find your spine.

I have spoken out about some very controversial things over the years.

Chest feeding. Jabs even before 2020. Just to name a couple. Sometimes the onslaught was so much that my nervous system just said no.

I switched off instagram. Sometimes for many months. And in those times it was right. I had little babies and not enough capacity to bear the brunt of public opinion about very tender issues.

I told myself well, I don’t need social media for money, so… screw it. Screw them.

At times that was perfectly fine.

But over time I realised something.

I’d given my creative territory away and I’d called it humility, integrity.

I’d let my audience but more so, strangers, have too much power when it came to my voice.

Slowly I started feeling really angry about it.

I realised how important integrity, freedom and creative expression are to me.

Using my voice matters a lot to me. 
Using the gifts God trusted to me, matters a lot to me.

Helping people where I can, matters to me.

Taking a stance for what is good and beautiful matters to me.

Owning my creative territory fully, matters to me.

Saying what I mean, matters to me.

I have always been a staunch advocate for freedom. I used to speak on stage to 14,000 people and jolt them alive with sharp swords of permission they never knew they needed.

I do it to myself too and recently I brought myself to new life again buy being really honest about where I was not free.

This isn’t a class about social media.

It’s about taking back our territory as women, our freedom, resolving the inner conflicts that are keeping us looping and stuck and small and hiding and calling that ‘God honouring’.

I will share how my faith journey impacted this too… and the lonely path I had to walk BEYOND the cultural christian scene and in to the true freedom Christ promised.
