Was This The Message Goldberg Was Duped To Send?

The assessment of corporate media is that Jeffrey Goldberg’s “revelation” of JD Vance’s “disdain” for the EU in a private messaging thread is hitting home in a way that public statements have not.

Which is interesting given that what JD Vance purportedly said in that Signal chat is very much of a piece with the previously dismissed public statements. Apparently, that it was said in private is making JD Vance’s blatant euroscepticism that much more believable.

Given that the Houthi attack had been announced already by Trump on Truth Social before this entire chat incident took place, given that no mission parameters were compromised, given that the extent of the “discussion” is laughably thin (you get more in depth comments on Fox News’ “The Five” and that show is totally scripted), might it be that this entire incident is the Trump Administration rickrolling the media to send a message to the EU that fiddle-farting around on Ukraine is a dangerous game they don’t want to play?

It’s interesting to note that at the same time this story is in the headlines, Russia is accepting a Black Sea ceasefire and wants to expand the ceasefire if it can get sanctions relief—and Europe is wanting to add sanctions in response.

Europe wants to craft a war policy on Russia independent of the United States. Despite being told every which way that the US does not support a war policy, they are determined to do it anyway.

And it’s Europe that’s making the move, not the US.

A Trumpian outcome?
