Rumor Control is reporting that Graham Platner won't withdraw unless another Nazi takes his place on the ballot.
Per the New York Post:
A source familiar with the campaign discussions said Platner, his campaign and political strategist Morris Katz are deliberating about the Maine Democrat dropping out but only if his replacement shares his left-wing values.
And the clock is ticking for Dems — there’s a deadline of Monday for the 41-year-old oyster farmer to withdraw and be replaced on the ballot, according to state election law.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are continuing to leak more examples of his sleazy self in action, with the latest ex-girlfriend story being about him pulling the condom off during sex.
“He would pull condoms off,” Lyndsey Fifield said in an interview with the Washington Post. “He would do it in a sneaky way. He wouldn’t tell me.”
“I confronted him both during and after [sex] because he knew that I was not on birth control and how dangerous that was,” Fifield added. “He would act like cute about it, like ‘Oh sneaky me.’”
Some would consider such behavior a form of sexual assault, as she did not consent to unprotected sex.
Presumably Susan Collins and her campaign staff are unable to comment as they are still laughing hysterically at the Democrats’ complete self-destruction in the Maine Senate race.
Platner won the primary, so the ballot slot is his until he gives it up. The Democratic Party bosses who have been orchestrating these ex-girlfriend reveals apparently hoped to shame Platner into bowing out, but are discovering that these radical Progressive types really don't have much in the way of shame.
The Achilles Heel in the Democrats’ effort to push Platner out is his personal reputation is already toast. There's not much more they can do to him on that level. He apparently realizes he has zero chance in the general, but the Democrats need that ballot slot if they want to have a plausible shot at capturing the Senate.
Platner realizes that as well. Perversely, that gives Platner leverage over the Democratic Party.
The Democrats have well and truly screwed themselves with Platner. The question now is how much damage will he do to the Democrat brand nationwide?
