Of course advance information on US combat operations is classified. Pretending otherwise is an insult to our troops, who all know this.

I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

So are we still more upset about Diverse, but qualified, yet presumed unqualified hires, than DUI hires?

Pope Francis lifted the world as he led the Church with his profound moral voice. As he returns to God, may his call to humility and concern for the least among us continue to resound.

So the Republican Party has historically blocked:

-Paid sick leave

-Paid family & medical leave

-Universal childcare

-Universal pre-K

-Expanded Child Tax Credit

-Programs to support reproductive health

And they're wondering why more people aren't having children?

We live in a time that people are more inclined to obey an unlawful executive order than they are to follow a court order 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Dictators are created due to cruelty, cowardice, & compliance! IF THEIR ASSES will ignore the Supreme Court, we can definitely IGNORE HIM!

To all those who say Trump has “single-handedly” wrecked the economy: He didn’t do it single-handedly. Congress could’ve stopped him anytime. The Republican-led Congress allowed him to wreck the economy.

THIS NEEDS MILLION OF RESTACKS…. Party on!

if there’s one single explanation for why this election has gone off the rails—and, indeed, why the past eight years have been so politically miserable—it’s this: even at this late date, we’ve had hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of analyses and hot takes from a liberal/progressive perspective, struggling to answer the question, “Why Trump?”

i’ve seen almost no one asking in good faith, “Why not the Democrats?”

the former leads into all sorts of pop psychology: speculation about intellectual inferiority, congenital prejudice, moral bankruptcy. but those perspectives will never change people, and only enrage them.

the latter might actually produce some worthwhile political insights that could help right the ship. why do people still despise the Democratic Party—every single Democratic presidential candidate for the past eight years, including the old white guy—more than a meandering country club owner with Borderline Personality Disorder?

if the Democratic Party still can’t acknowledge its own weaknesses and make a positive case for its policies, rather than constantly leaning on moral superiority—it’s doomed, with or without Trump.

Been thoroughly answered but the Democrats would apparently prefer people eat cake.

which is ironic, because now it looks like the Democrats will have to get their cake boxed up to go, so they can eat it in the parking lot after they turn in their badges and keys.

I could not agree more (I’m UK based btw). There’s like a pact of silence about this on the US liberal left, any discussion of possible flaws in Democrat strategy is absolutely forbidden. I followed Heather Cox Richardson on fb for her excellent forensic posting on Trump’s various legal battles (which were poorly reported over here) but I made the mistake of very mildly questioning some of her followers about their assumptions - in particular that “the only reason” for Trump’s victory in 2016 b…
