In Australia, Bishop Christopher Saunders has been found guilty of sex-abuse charges. As I mentioned a week ago, his trial featured an unprecedented appearance: one bishop testifying for the prosecution against another bishop.
Several weeks earlier, Saunders had pled guilty to firearms charges. I can’t help wondering whether other bishops would have testified for the prosecution, if necessary, in a trial on those charges.
Because, you see, our bishops have always taken firearms violations seriously.
