The Catholic bishops of Florida, defending their policy of mandatory vaccination for all Catholic-school students, tell the state’s attorney general that they recognize some families refuse to accept vaccines that are developed using fetal tissues. Those families can send their children to non-Catholic schools, the bishops say; that’s their way of accommodating their conscientious objection.

It’s good to know that the bishops are vigorously pushing for the development of ethically-derived vaccines. I look forward to seeing their public statements, hearing their testimony, reading the flyers they distribute for this cause. Because to date I’ve seen nothing.
