The Catholic bishops of Florida, defending their policy of mandatory vaccination for all Catholic-school students, tell the state’s attorney general that they recognize some families refuse to accept vaccines that are developed using fetal tissues. Those families can send their children to non-Catholic schools, the bishops say; that’s their way of accommodating their conscientious objection.

The statement from the Florida Catholic Conference continues:

The bishops of Florida understand that some Catholics may disagree with these policies. They continue to advocate for alternative vaccines…

It’s good to know that the bishops are vigorously pushing for the development of ethically-derived vaccines. I look forward to seeing their public statements, hearing their testimony, reading the flyers they distribute for this cause. Because to date I’ve seen nothing.
