and also, if it stopped trying so desperately to be “critique”. which is really fucking boring because the author (1) usually restricts that to gesturing vaguely to the same collection of anti-diet culture topic sentence talking points; and (2) defensively retreats into them in ways that sometimes seem an effort to intellectualize themselves out of a less legible, digestible, or “morally justifiable” perspective that ultimately would’ve made for far more interesting a story.
