The non-fiction thriller “The Hot Zone: The Terrifying True Story of the Origins of the Ebola Virus" by Richard Preston (1994) left me grateful for international health protocols. Reports of a new outbreak, without a global U.S. infrastructure in place to help contain spread of the virus, is alarming.
