Boarded the Southwest Chief in Los Angeles and rode 20 hours east through California, Arizona, and New Mexico, a slow-moving adventure with a rotating cast of wacky passengers and miles of wide desert. I hopped off in Lamy, NM before the train pushed on to Chicago. Here’s some of what I saw along the way…
