I loved April Long T&C piece on vintage perfume bottles. She really nailed why collectors are so drawn to them.
They aren’t just bottles, they’re really works of art with incredible backstories:
‣ Salvatore Dalí’s Le Roi Soleil for Schiaparelli (1939): a surrealist sun captured in Baccarat crystal
‣ Parfums de Marcy’s Orange (1925): shaped like a fruit, hiding 8 mini bottles inside
‣ Josef Schmidt’s crystal flacon (1930s): precision-cut and impossibly elegant
These collectors aren’t just buying scent, they’re buying design, history and emotion.
Sometimes, the bottle tells a story that lasts even longer than the perfume inside.
