The closer you get to the Afi Mountain Sanctuary (also known as the Afi Mountain Drill Ranch), the thicker the jungle gets and the narrower the tracks. The Cross River State is not called “the People’s Paradise” for nothing! So lush and green it was that it sure resembled a paradise, as we understand it. On the last turns, we stumbled upon some staff members gathering food for the drills and chimps in the jungle, and they told us the right, last turns. We had already started to second-guess our route by then.
