The last two Pitchmarks posts have been on nine hole courses - Royal Worlington & Newmarket last Sunday, and now Flempton. There's something special in these little marvels that fits so well in modern life, and yet everyone gets obsessed by the number eighteen. But on the day I played those two - twice each - I learned more about golf, and how these playgrounds of ours are crafted, than on any other day I can recall. Marvellous stuff!
