This morning, on Face the Nation, Chris Wright lied about U.S. oil production. He tried to claim that Obama and Biden had strangled U.S. oil production and Rump had set it free. (No pushback from CBS.)

U.S. oil production anctually increased throughout Obama’s and Biden’s terms, mostly because the cost of fracking had declined. (When you don’t have to reimburse the community for the water you use and spoil, it does cost less.)

Today, the price of oil on the world market is close to or less than the cost to produce. Oil companies are not “recharging” old well, nor drilling for new ones, because it’s not profitable.
