In an upcoming podcast episode we talk about the four functions that Jung identified. One or two of these are generally well developed in us while one is considered "the inferior function." This one is less controlled by the ego and might represent the youngest hero of fairy tales, myths, and Bible stories. Here's how Jung briefly describes the functions. His discovery of this lead to the Myers Briggs inventory.

Sensation tells us that something exists; thinking tells you what it is; feeling tells you whether it is agreeable or not; and intuition tells you whence it comes and where it is going.” From Jung's
