Thanks for Taking a Chance on this Indie Writer

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you—the early adopters—who are reading Positive Awe posts and notes. Your support means the world to me as I balance simultaneous projects and revisit foundational project management principles. My goal is to work in excellence while avoiding the pitfall of spreading myself too thin. Although I am brimming with excitement for each project, I understand that some things must take time to marinate as I cultivate and grow my audience.

To those who are here now, thank you for believing in me when my readership is but a handful. It feels both humbling and invigorating to share my thoughts with you.

I've been a writer for decades. My journey began in high school when my English teacher praised my writing and my classmates eagerly awaited weekly readings of my chapters, poems, and papers. Yet, life, in all its complexity, pulled me away from my creative pursuits as survival took precedence.

Although I majored in Radio & TV Production with dreams of writing scripts for television, those aspirations faded under the pressing realities of shelter, food, and managing my student loan debt. Following college, Seminary, and graduate school, I found myself in corporate America—a place that often stifles the creative spirit. My innovative ideas, unique perspectives, and moments of brilliance were boxed in, with little room to flourish. While I gained transferable skills and valuable experiences during this time, the focus on survival drained my energy, leaving no space for writing. My ideas, filled with promise, languished in journals, scattered post-its, and even floppy disks—artifacts I can no longer access.

I also learned an important truth about myself: as an introvert, I spent too much energy conforming to the extraversion that corporate America demands. It was taxing and took a significant toll on me. Now, I am celebrating my authentic self, reconnecting with my faith, and dedicating time to pursuits that bring me joy and truly showcase my talent.

For those who may not know, I am a devout Christian, and my faith is an inseparable part of my life and work. Every project I embark on aligns with the heartbeat of God, as I strive to attune my ear to His will. Recently, He has spoken to me with unmistakable repetition—a sure sign of His intention. I’ve learned that when God repeats something, it’s never casual. Joshua 3:5 resonates deeply:

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.

Walking in obedience to His will unlocks the extraordinary, and I am eager for the amazing things that await in the next chapter of my life, even amidst the uncertainty our country faces today.
