Make rest a daily habit : because your body needs it, especially when it’s busy fighting the plethora of illnesses currently circulating. Think of rest as a supplement - to soothe your nervous system and boost your immunity. Daily rest is convenient, burnout isn’t.
Cook and freeze a week’s worth of meals : I admit this isn’t a ‘simple’ task but after two days with a cold, I was reminded of exactly how vital meal preparation is for sick, fallow times. This is what I’m focussing on this week; batches of soup, broth, bolognaise, stew and curry.
Add lemon slice to your water : hydration is just as important in winter so make it easy with fresh lemon and give yourself an added dose of VitC.
SEE the remarkable ordinary in your everyday life : this is the main message in my book and the perspective I always return to. But I also need reminding, especially when life is particularly busy and I look past what’s right in front of me. I think that’s the beauty of slowing down long enough to take note…you are reminded of the bountiful life you’ve created for yourself.
Embrace the cut onion to suppress coughing : it’s a bit witchy but a brown onion cut in half and placed on the bedside table works like magic to ease nightly coughing.
