Substack: I am outraged. My readers are outraged. My paid customers are outraged.

You rolled out a change where my subscribers cannot read the email I send without downloading the Substack app on mobile (iOS or Android). On desktop, they need to log into the Substack website. The full email is no longer sent out: the bottom “view entire message” only shows the cut off email - Substack quietly truncated my content themselves. Up to this silent change, the full email was sent out, always.

All this done without notifying me, or letting me opt into this (that I would never opt into.)

Remove this immediately, or I have no choice but to find another platform… that still sends full emails.

Email is email. Substack: you’ve respected this until now. Be careful what you do next.
