Be bored more often.

Go for long walks. Meditate. Journal your thoughts. Read new books. Spend time alone without devices. You would get to understand yourself a lot much better. Your brain gets the best ideas when it is left to wander.

In those quiet moments, you'll uncover clarity and inspiration that can't be found in constant stimulation.

My father always told me:

"If you want to go for a run, go for a run, don't look for company.

Sooner or later, on your fifth run or your twentieth, like-minded people will find you themselves."

And only recently have I realised that this principle works everywhere.

Just FYI because evidently Fox or OAN or whatever is pushing the lie that America accepted the Statue of Liberty and that’s equivalent to the plane.

Congress VOTED to approve receiving the statue. So congress should vote on the jet

sometimes i wonder how many versions of myself i’ve outgrown without even noticing. i look back at old photos and remember the thoughts i used to carry, the dreams i thought would save me. it’s strange how you can live inside yourself every day and still not realize you’re evolving. it’s only when you look back that you realize how far you’ve come, how many lives you’ve already lived in the same skin.

We live in a time that people are more inclined to obey an unlawful executive order than they are to follow a court order 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Love the newsletter!

One question: considering the state capacity limitations implementing any financial incentives program (or industrial policy in general) is going to be extremely difficult. And you can't build state capacity overnight either.

But doing factor market or tax reforms only require political will and capital. And to my amateur mind it seems like this govt has a abundance of it.

Why are they still going the other route? What am I missing?

The status quo is a status quo because most people prefer the known devil over an unknown future. Effecting factor market reforms needs buy-in from a large number of stakeholders. It needs a governance style that can get most people on board. That’s not this government’s strength.

Thinking out loud here: I guess there is a weird paradox in holding power in a democracy. The more you have of it the less conciliatory you become. The less conciliatory you are the less you can get done in a democracy. And thus, more power = less reforms?

So weaker PVNR and ABV got more done than more powerful successors.

Ofcourse a broad statement, would have a lot of caveats.
