Stop thinking people search like it's 2015.
Short keywords.
Fragmented phrases.
Robotic prompts.
Conversational search isn't coming, it's been here for a year.
Yet, in 2/3 of the potential consulting clients I meet I see that they haven't adapted their behavior yet.
They assume people will type "best SEO tool" when in fact they are more likley to search
"What's the best SEO tool for a B2B SaaS company that needs keyword research, backlink tracking, and competitor analysis under $200/month?"
The first prompt gets you generic listicles which is actually better served by an AI Overview, while the latter gets you an actual answer.
The shift from LLMs isn't just technical; it's creating a psychological shift.
Search engines understand full sentences with intent and complexity, so users are being conditioned to search in depth rather than in short phrases.
This shift is going to continue to grow, and it will absolutely lead to lower traffic even if you rank number one on that "money phrase."
Adapt and think beyond the phrase.
