LOL, if patriarchy were in the shape of my father, we’d probably be fine. My dad is great.
But that is not how systems work.
“Matriarchy” is not the political manifestation of your mommy issues, just like patriarchy is not simply “my dad was mean.” We are talking about structures of power, inheritance, labor, law, authority, violence, family, property, and whose bodies get treated as public infrastructure.
Also, sure, maybe matriarchy would not magically fix everything. Women are people, not woodland justice spirits. But after several thousand years of patriarchy turning the world into a flaming group project where women do most of the cleanup, I do think “what if we tried literally anything else?” is a reasonable question.
