What leaps out at me (but is somewhat obscured in the post): the complex roles played by “expertise” in this story (whose expertise? where does the expertise come from? how is the expertise both similar to and different from various types of expertise that we’re training new professionals (and others) in today?) and the importance of understanding and working in *systems* (in addition to?) (rather that?) the priority usually assigned to understanding and executing tasks, or projects. To borrow a line, you’re gonna need a bigger boat.
