Nothing against the sentiment but this is factually wrong. Hitler was appointed chancellor after his party saw a decline in vote share in the last free election (they were the largest party but unable to form a coalition - yes it’s a different type of parliamentary democracy with proportional representation vs. First past the post). He used the power of the chancellor’s position (to which he was appointed by president Hindenburg - not elected) to dismantle democratic institutions. The election after that cannot be considered a free and fair democratic election. There’s analogies here alright, but as a German and a historian I will be a stickler for facts.

People forget that the Nazis were voted in and had popular support in Germany.

Fascism doesn’t arrive by force. It’s welcomed at the front door.

We never learn from history.
