You must write. Now, more than ever, you must write!!!
For as Frederick Douglass declared:
At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed. O! had I the ability, and could I reach the nation’s ear, I would, today, pour out a fiery stream of biting ridicule, blasting reproach, withering sarcasm, and stern rebuke. For it is not light that is needed, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake. The feeling of the nation must be quickened; the conscience of the nation must be roused; the propriety of the nation must be startled; the hypocrisy of the nation must be exposed; and its crimes against God and man must be proclaimed and denounced.
Douglass’s words remind us that writing is not merely an act of communication—it is an act of resistance, a tool of transformation, and a weapon against complacency.
In moments of crisis, silence is complicity.
To write is to take a stand, to challenge power, to confront injustice, and to imagine new possibilities.
The page is your battlefield, your sanctuary, your amplifier. Whether it’s a journal entry, a social media post, a legal brief, or a poem, your words have the power to quicken hearts, awaken consciences, and demand accountability.
So, write.
Write boldly, unapologetically, and with purpose.
Write to confront the storm, to expose the hypocrisy, to ignite the fire that refuses to be extinguished. Write for the past, the present, and the future.
But above all, write because the world needs your voice.
