I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

And the Biden/Harris team keeps on rolling out these FDR-esque programs. I am consistently impressed by and grateful for the holistic nature of these plans: "$20 billion of the Inflation Reduction Act will go to helping farmers and ranchers adjust to climate change by changing cover crops and managing nutrients and grazing, while urging farmers to diversify from single crops and sell in local markets."

And yet, this is the first time I have heard about this speech. Why? Because it is not discussed in the NYTimes morning newsletters (there are 4 of them, so one would think it would appear somewhere, but no), or in the Guardian, or on the WaPo headline page, or on NPR--and you can bet that it won't appear in the Right Wingnut echo chamber.
