By all accounts, Ray Kroc, the McDonald’s mega-millionaire, was a pretty good baseball owner, but when he bought the Padres in 1974, Kroc still had a lot to learn.

52 years ago this week, Kroc grabbed the public address microphone and had a very public tantrum. The fans loved it, the players hated it, and the streaker running around on the field resented the owner for stealing his moment of glory.
